An Ember In The Ashes - Sabaa Tahir

An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I want to start off by saying, this book deserved the five stars I gave this book on good reads. I was given this book as a Christmas present from my wife. I believe she ordered it online at indigo. This book is has a riveting tale of two characters. One is trying to rescue her brother from being imprisioned by taking on the role of a "slave." The other is trying to escape the fate that is pushed upon him and escape the tirany of the culture that he was born into. I loved how the author switched back and forth from each character in each chapter. However, and I'm not saying this as some copied someone else but it reminded me of legend by Mari lu. Other than that the books seem a lot more different of a story from each other.

It was always exciting to see what was going to happen with the next character, and how their lives would link up to each other, in each of their prospective. I really got into the story and even became genuinely worried for their safety many times throughout the book.
I would highly recommend reading this book as the author has written a brilliant story. When book two is released you can bet I will get my hands on it.
